What is Subsconscious Trauma

After we are born, we exist in a subconscious state until about the age of 7 (give or take).  We are constantly looking for love, acceptance, acknowledgement and safety.

Interactions happen between us and other human beings.  Hopefully, a large percentage of these interactions are positive and full of love, acceptance, acknowledgement and safety. These are called sensitizing events.  There is an Intial Sensitizing Event and then secondary or subsequent sensitizing events for many different interactions.

Our young, yet developing subconscious mind observes these events and creates a belief about or interpretation of these events.  These beliefs are then accompanied with a feeling about these beliefs or interpretations.  These events and our belief or interpretation of these events become our subconscious programs.

If these interactions are positive and happen over and over again, then we develop very good subconscious programs.  We feel as though we have great value, belong to a good unit, develop and get what we desire, don't hold resentment or rage or get angry, and feel safe and secure.  Our subconscious programs serve us and serve us well.

If some or all of these interactions are negative and happen over and over again, then we may develop bad subconscious programs.  We feel as though we are not good enough, we feel as though we do not belong or are very different, we don't get what we desire,  We hold resentment or rage or get angry, or we do not feel safe and nothing works out or there is constant dread something is going to go wrong or all is going to fall apart.  These are subconscious programs that DO NOT serve us and limit our growth and overall potential.

These bad subconscious programs are subconscious trauma and are the result of sensitizing events that you experience over and over and your subconscious now provided your conscious mind ways to avoid the pain that has been inflicted prior.

This generally is the result of emotional, physical or sexual abuse during your formative years.  Narcissistic abusers are the general source of these bad interactions.  Narcissists are very damaged persons and they receive their narcissistic supply (validation) by destroying and controlling others, mostly their own children. Your subconscious is a tremendously powerful source in discovering ways to protect you (it thinks).

Some of these protections may appear as anxiety.  Your subconscious, while awake, is constantly scanning and analyzing your environment at 40,000 bits of data per second.  If it detects a pattern that has a potential for pain, it may create anxiety which could manifest as a physical response (headaches, stomach issues, pain in chest, etc) in your body to prevent you from moving in the direction that caused you pain.

In addition to, or instead of anxiety, this distraction or aversion to the mental/emotional pain could also be accompanied by alcohol consumption, drug consumption, porn consumption, smoking, overeating, or any combination thereof.  Your subconscious desires to protect you and numb the pain by procrastinating or distracting you from that "bad" thing.

Carl Jung said "Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will rule your life and you will call if fate."

I am here to help make your unsconscious (subconscious) conscious and allow you to take control of your life and have the success you desire.
